Art Carbonell- the passing of a Pioneer

ROAR is sad to announce the passing of Art Carbonell on Wednesday February 3rd, 2021.
Art was one of the pioneers of the sport and truly a gentle man. Art was a many time ROAR National Champion, his career dating back to the 70's. Art was the fifth ever IFMAR World Champion, winning the 1/8 Fuel Powered World Championship in 1981 in Indianapolis, Indiana and the very next year (1982) brought home the IFMAR 1/12 Modified World Championship in Anaheim, California, all while representing ROAR as a true champion and ambassador for the sport of radio controlled car racing.
Art would always stop what he was doing to take the time to help a fellow racer. Art's generous lending of his time and knowledge kept many racers in our spoort.
RIP and Godspeed Art Carbonell.
