IFMAR 10th SCALE OFFROAD WORLDS PROPOSALS WANTED

Every two years, IFMAR (International Federation of Model Auto Racing) rotates each discipline of world championships to its member blocs. In 2023 the IFMAR World Championship for 10th Scale Offroad will be held within the ROAR bloc (United States and Canada). 

ROAR is now seeking proposals from tracks interested in hosting this event which will run two classes, 2WD Modified Buggy and 4WD Modified Buggy.

Interested tracks should submit their proposals using the national bid template located at https://www.roarracing.com/forms/Nationals-bid-template.doc

Proposals must be received by May 31, 2022 in order to be assured of consideration. Submit bids electronically to Jeff Parker, ROAR Competition Director at compdir@roarracing.com

Projected time frame - fall 2023. Specific dates to be determined

Event Format - the event is basically run as two separate 3 day events with an off day in between (3 days for 2WD, off day, 3 days for 4WD). Track is normally run in different directions for 2WD and 4WD. 

All entries are made through the 4 IFMAR blocs and then sent to the host track

Number of entries: normally 150 maximum each class

Host track receives payment of $195 per racer with single class entry or $220 for racers entering both classes. 

Host track retains all sponsorship revenue

Host track responsible for:

  • Trophies to top 30 finishers in each class
  • Banquet for competitors

Host track to provide general liability insurance of $1 million minimum 

Host track to contract with ROAR RMT for Race Director and Chief Technical Inspector. ROAR to cover half this cost. ROAR to provide timing and scoring and inspection equipment. Host track may contract for additional ROAR RMT support at their discretion. 

Host Track to provide 2 stage reports providing information on the event (details on IFMAR site)

  • Stage 1 - issued within one month of selection as host
  • Stage 2 - issued at least 6 weeks prior to event

Host track to recommend control tires and inserts to IFMAR Executive Committee per Section 4.2.11 and be prepared to handle sales and tire impound requirements.

Host track to supply car numbers and identification badges.

$1000 Sanction Fee to be paid to IFMAR (deducted from entry fees collected)

Host to provide Performance Bond of up to $2000 at request of IFMAR; refundable at successful conclusion of event.
