IFMAR 8th SCALE OFFROAD WORLDS INVITATIONS

ROAR has begun the process of sending Invitations to drivers who have qualified for a spot in the 2022 IFMAR 1/8 IC Off Road World Championship being held in Alicante, Spain on September 4-11, 2022. Those planning to attend the event are advised to stay up to date on travel requirements due to COVID-19. The latest information from the US Consulate in Spain indicates that U.S. citizens can travel from the United States to Spain if they show that they are vaccinated against COVID-19, or have a recovery certificate , or show a negative diagnostic test result (NAAT or RAT) performed either within 72hours prior to departure to Spain for a NAAT (e.g. – PCR test) or within 24 hours prior to departure to Spain for a RAT (e.g. – rapid antigen test).
These World Championships were originally scheduled for 2020 and the 2019 ROAR Fuel Off Road National Championship held at Thornhill would have been used as the qualifying event. Because of the postponement, the ROAR Executive Committee has decided to extend invitations to those originally qualified based on results from Thornhill as well as to those who were in the Semi-finals and TQ at the 2021 ROAR 1/8 Scale Fuel Offroad Nationals held at LCRC. As a result, we are issuing a total of 38 Invitations. ROAR has initially been allocated 20 spots for this event by IFMAR and expects to be able to secure additional spots up to the total number of invited drivers.
It is strongly advised that those drivers who receive qualified invitations return their completed form with payment as quickly as possible to guarantee your spot.
For those drivers wishing to apply for alternate spots, resume’s will be accepted. Your resume must include your name, address, email, phone number, ROAR number, and your expiration date as well as years of experience in the class and major events you have participated in 1/8 Fuel Off Road. Please send this information to administrator@roarracing.com using “2022 1/8 Fuel IC World Championship Alternate Request” as the subject of the email.
If your qualifications are accepted as an alternate, priority will be given to those with recent experience in A-Mains or Finals at recent ROAR Nationals or IFMAR WC events. If we ultimately receive more resume’s than spots, openings will be filled based on the date we receive the completed Alternate Drivers Invitation form and payment. Paid Alternate Invitations above the number of allocated spots to ROAR will be placed on a wait list.
For all drivers submitting, your ROAR membership must be valid through the last day of the event, September 11, 2022. If your membership expires before then, you must renew to be considered. Go to www.roarracing.com/join to renew. As always, your renewal will be for a period of one year or extend your current membership for one more year.
Entry fee is $420 USD. If you receive an invitation, there will be a $100 cancellation fee for those who withdraw from the event. Those who withdraw prior to having their entry confirmed or who are on the wait list and not ultimately selected will receive a full refund.
Memberships are not refundable.
