REGISTRATION FOR 2023 ELECTRIC ON ROAD CARPET NATIONALS

Registration for the 2023 ROAR Electric Onroad Carpet Nationals to be held at Apex Raceway & Hobbies in Murfreesboro, TN will open at 5 PM EST on December 13, 2022.

The event will feature competition for National Championships in 6 championship classes and event champions in 3 exhibition classes and will be held on March 8-12, 2023. The event begins with track hosted open practice on Wednesday, March 8th with ROAR controlled practice and seeding on Thursday. Qualifying rounds will be run on Friday and Saturday with Mains on Sunday, March 12th.

Championship classes include Mod Touring Car, 17.5 Touring Car, 21.5 Touring Car, Mod 12th Scale, 13.5 12th Scale and 17.5 12th Scale. Exhibition classes include USGT, USVTA and GT12R. Championship classes will follow ROAR rules. Entry fee for these classes will be $100 each entry. Exhibition classes will have an entry fee of $75 for each entry and will follow USVTA vehicle rules for USGT and VTA. GT12R rules are at the end of this announcement.

ROAR event rules and procedures will be followed for all classes.

Entries for all classes must be made at Roarracing.com.

Racers may enter a maximum of 3 total classes; however, a racer may not compete in 21.5 TC together with Mod TC or in 17.5 12th scale together with Mod 12th scale. Racers in the Mod classes also may not compete in the USGT, VTA or GT12R classes.

The registration deadline is February 26th. ROAR reserves the right to cancel any class which does not have a minimum of 15 entries by the registration deadline. Refunds will be made (minus $15 fee) for cancellations prior to the registration deadline. No refunds will be made after the registration deadline. A $20 late fee will apply to any registration after February 26th including registration at the event. Should the event be postponed or canceled for any reason, full refunds will be made for all entry fees. By entering the event racers agree to abide by all ROAR rules and the decisions of the race director.

ROAR membership is required to enter the event and memberships must be valid through the last day of the event, March 12th. ROAR membership fees are not refundable.

TIRES

Handout Tires - must be purchased at the track

GT12R - SJT - 1 set for weekend
Touring Car - Gravity Type C
USGT - Gravity Belted
17.5 12th Scale - BSR

USVTA tires are BYO Protoform, must have visible tread

SXT tire sauce only - Sauce table provided

MOTORS

ROAR approved motors in all classes
USGT & GT12R must use Motiv USGT motor

GT12R Rules

Chassis Specs

Any 12th scale pan car chassis
Single, one-piece drive axle only (ball diff, gear diff or spool)
No independent rear suspension
Max chassis width - 172mm

Minimum weight - 750gm

Ride Height Specification

3mm minimum under all parts of chassis excluding the spur gear

Tires

Handout SJT rubber 12th scale - must be purchased at event
Tires may not be sanded, scuffed or trued
One set for entire event
Broken wheels / defective tires will be replaced with a single tire at the discretion of the Race Director

Motor - USGT Motiv 21.5 (30 degree fixed timing) GRC2000

ESC - 1S ESC using ROAR approved zero timing firmware

Battery - ROAR approved 1s battery, 4.20 max voltage

Body Specifications

Any 12th GT style body (no LMP bodies)
Body must be cut to the body height lines
Only the wing included with the body may be used
No wing side dams allowed
