Nationals Classes
We talked about what makes a class National vs exhibition. The proposed solution is to make sure classes are identified as their type in the rules, so there is less confusion going forward.
New rules
We will be updating rules approvals in bylaws to make the process more transparent and with current standards. In doing such we discovered the new GBS rules IFMAR came up with while working with our previous Technical Director were never approved by ROAR and will be taken out of the rule book, till such time the committee votes for their approval. ROAR is currently investigating where the approval came from in IFMAR and is reaching out to other blocks.
USGT/VTA. ROAR will continue to post current rule sets for usgt/VTA/gt12 and keep them in line with current rules posted on the usvta page with some minor deviations to make it easier for drivers. Things such as dropping the minimum weight for usgt bodies to 85grams, removing the driver figure requirement for VTA, and painted wing to name a few. There is no immediate plan to remove any specific bodies from the lists currently posted on the usvta website other than those no longer manufactured. There will be more news concerning these classes coming soon as we continue to listen to the racers and move forward.
